INTACT Stakeholder Workshop
FAC hosted last week’s workshop for stakeholders of the INTACT project which included critical infrastructure organisations Irish Rail, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and ESB Networks as well as representatives from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, local government authorities and other EU-funded projects.
FAC is leading the Irish case study for the project which focuses on the impact of flooding on the southwest region of the country. INTACT partners from HR Wallingford, Deltares and University of Stuttgart also participated in the workshop, which explored risk estimation and evaluation as well as the identification of potential mitigation measures.
The aim of the event was to test the methods developed under INTACT to create a valuable decision support tool which can be used by critical infrastructure operators and managers to increase resilience against flooding.
INTACT partners Andy Tagg (HR Wallingford) and Dr Karin de Bruijn (Deltares) presented and completed a series of activities with stakeholders including the completion of criteria assessment and application of an ‘Analytic Hierarchy Process’.
